The Ocean has always been a powerful metaphor for the spiritual. The ocean is often likened to the infinite being, all powerful, infinite and acting as a continuous one. As one wave after another crashed onto the shore slowly slowly chipping away at the mind represented by the shore and God as the infinite all powerful and conquering. Eventually all of the shore is returned to the ocean as it grinds away in its ever relentless fashion until shore and ocean become one.
